The Ducati Desmosedici RR was a sports motorcycle presented in 2006 and released into production in 2007 in limited numbers. The bike was developed by the Ducati Corse department in a street version of the racing prototype machine.

In 2008, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Desmosedici RR, a sports machine in its second year of production that didn't feature any modification whatsoever. From 2007 to 2008, Ducati manufactured 1500 models at an MSRP of $65,000. Although the price was high, all units were sold.

In the visual department, the bike presented a full fairing with a racing-derived graphic scheme, a small windscreen, a dual headlight system, a single seat, a well-hidden exhaust system, and seven-spoke lightweight wheels.

As for the power figures, the 2008 Ducati Desmosedici RR had installed underneath its bodywork a 989cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V4 engine managed by a fuel injection system, boasting 200 hp with maximum strength at 13,800 rpm and 116 Nm (86 lb-ft) torque at 10,500 rpm.

The power produced by the engine was transferred to a six-speed manual transmission with a hydraulically-operated dry multi-plate slipper clutch and a final chain drive, pushing the bike to 301 kph (188 mph).

As for the braking power, the wheels were fitted with two 330 mm semi-floating discs and radially-mounted four-piston Brembo calipers on the front. The rear wheel was stopped by a 240 mm disc squeezed by a dual-piston caliper.
