DUCATI 1199 Panigale S Tricolore (2012-2013) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2012, Ducati’s Panigale family was ready to start a new chapter in the company’s superbike history with the release of the 1199 Panigale, 1199 Panigale S, and 1199 Panigale S Tricolore. The new Tricolore model celebrates the arrival of a new superbike generation and proudly wears the Italian flag colors, red, white, and green.

A few options and features were extra on the 2012 Tricolore version, like the new generation DDA+ (Ducati Data Analyser) with GPS lap time function and a titanium racing muffler by Ducati Performance, but otherwise it carries the same equipment as the S version.

At the foundation of the bike sits the 1198cc Superquadro Desmodromic liquid-cooled engine, with a whopping power of 194 hp at 10,750 rpm and 132 Nm (97 lb-ft) of torque. The Tricolore comes equipped with a six-speed DSQ (Ducati Quick Shift).

The monocoque aluminum frame uses the engine as a stressed member and weighs less than the old conventional frame. The suspension is handled by Ohlins NIX30 43mm, a fully adjustable USD fork at the front, and a fully adjustable Ohlins TTX36 unit at the rear.

ABS-equipped Brembo calipers are in charge of braking, pressing the two 330 mm semi-floating discs at the front and the single 245 mm disc at the rear.

In 2022, the Ducati 1199 Panigale S Tricolore was for sale with a price starting from $14,000.
