BMW S 1000 RR (2016-2017) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2017, BMW Motorrad released the new S 1000 RR model, which was a virtually perfect model, but still had to be optimized. The 2017 model was adapted to the EURO 4 requirements, has ABS Pro as a new element of the optional riding mode Pro, DTC as a standard feature, and a single seat with passenger cover, but offers the optional passenger package as an alternative. The model has a new color scheme, such as Granite Grey Metallic with Blackstorm Metallic.

In addition to the 2017 S 1000 RR, BMW added the HP4 Race version, a non-street legal but track-only bike made in a limited production of 750 units.

The 2017 model has its heartbeat set by the 999cc four-stroke liquid-cooled engine sending the power to the rear wheel through a six-speed manual transmission, boasting 199 hp at 13,500 rpm and 113 Nm (83 lb-ft) of torque at 10,500 rpm.

The suspension used on the 2017 model was a 46 mm USD fork on the front, a double-sided swingarm with a central spring strut in the spring base, and adjustable inbound and rebound action.

In the braking department, the bike has two 320 mm discs on the front and a 220 mm disc on the rear.

The 2017 BMW S 1000 RR was for sale in 2022, starting from $12,000.
