At the time of its release in 2014, the BMW S 1000 RR came with some minor updates, and for the first time, with Race ABS as a standard feature. Some small updates made to the handlebars and minor changes to the fairings. With an extra cost, some premium features were included, such as an HP carbon engine spoiler and trim, HP folding clutch and brake levers, HP adjustable rider footrests, standard forged wheels finished in Racing Blue Metallic, a decal kit, heated grips, and an anti-theft alarm. The 2014 BMW S 1000 RR remained the most powerful motorcycle ever built by BMW Motorrad.

In terms of power, the model gets its energy from the 999cc four-stroke liquid-cooled engine bolted to a six-speed manual transmission, delivering 193 hp at 13,000 rpm and 113 Nm (83 lb-ft) of torque at 9,750 rpm.

For suspension, the bike has a 46 mm USD fork on the front, a double swingarm with a central spring strut in the spring base with adjustable inbound and rebound action, and in the braking department, it has two 320 mm discs, four-piston fixed calipers on the front and a 220 mm disc, single-piston floating caliper on the rear.

The dry weight of the model is 178 kg (398 lbs).
