The high-performance, AMG variant of the Mercedes-Benz CLA is not only accelerating like a bat out of hell from naught to 100 km/h (62 mph), but it's also flying off the shelves faster than you can pronounce the model's full name (Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG 4Matic, ed).
According to the Mercedes-Benz Passion Blog, the demand for the AMG-tuned version of the baby-CLS is exceeding all expectations, including the ones at Daimler AG.
Even though the car will not officially hit showroom floors until September 2013, orders are being received since July and there is already a three-month waiting list for the second-smallest AMG in the lineup.
We should remind you that, in Germany, the CLA 45 AMG starts at 56.078,75 Euros, so it's not exactly a sales volume model.
We don't have any official sales figures for the car yet, but the above information is coming from a Daimler AG insider who said that the Mercedes-Benz plant in Hungary - where the C117 CLA is built - is having trouble fulfilling the high demand.
