In the world of tuning there are plenty of names to choose from but most of the famous brands usually deal with cars that have almost supercar status. This time, we’re looking into a diesel one that could very well take on much more powerful petrol-driven alternatives.
In its stock guise, the F30 335d xDrive model is the fastest one in the 3 Series range. Fitted with a biturbo 3-liter inline 6-cylinder diesel engine making 313 HP and 630 Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque, it’s also the most powerful, stripping the 335i of its crown.

The petrol alternative has only 306 HP and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque coming from the similarly sized engine under the bonnet. Going all out to 100 km/h (62 mph) will reveal that the difference between them is just 0.2 seconds.

However, the one we’re looking at here went well past those stock numbers, reaching mind-bending figures that could put even supercars to shame. The guys from Profituning (a sister company of PP-Performance) took the 3-liter engine up to 370 HP and 830 Nm (612 lb-ft) of torque, more than anyone thought possible.

That’s not all though. That power was recorded at the wheels and not at the crank, meaning that ignoring the transmission loss, the 335d actually has even more horsepower and torque available at the crank, somewhere close to 400 HP and 1000 Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque.

What we’re wondering is how the 8-speed ZF gearbox is holding on since it was designed to cope with up to 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, at most. Probably not very well...
