SsangYong Korando C First Pictures, to Debut in Paris
Well, it appears that SsangYong is now planning to push the project into production under the name Korando C. The compact SUV will be on display at the Paris Auto Show this year, with sales to begin soon after.
Autointernationaal.nl wrote that the Korando C will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbodiesel Euro 5-compliant engine that would develop around 178 horsepower. It will be offered with either front-wheel drive - likely to be included as standard - or all-wheel drive - standard on top versions and optional on the others. A gasoline-powered configuration is also possible, with a displacement of 1.8-liter, but the release date is yet to be disclosed.
As always, a hybrid flavor is also included in SsangYong's plan and the initial plans are claiming that it could rely on an electric motor - diesel engine assembly. However, the South Korean carmaker is yet to confirm developments of such a version.
The C200 concept displayed at the French event in 2008 was powered by a 2.0-liter engine that developed 175 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. The engine was mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and connected to an all-wheel drive configuration as standard.
