Russia Pulls The Plug On Lada 2107
text size: A- A+
The everlasting Lada 2107, as it is known, entered production in 1970. If we are to think about its name the “2107” could be the year when we could see Mad Max versions of the ancient Lada running on apocalyptic Siberian roads. Back to the present day, the car was a true hit if we are to mention that 16.8 million were built, or if put head-to-head from Earth to Moon it would be enough for the Russian Astronauts to walk their way there.
The famous Lada had a price of $7,500 and was sold under the names of Riva, 1500, 2101, 2107, and the Classic. Over the years, it has been raced, rallied driven through unimaginable conditions. The car was built in Russia, Egypt, Germany, and Kazakhstan. Despite a sales increase in 2010 with about 136,000 units sold, the Russian executives decided to pull the plug on the immortal Lada.
Thus, it will take its place among the old Volkswagen Beetle, as two cars who had the longest production runs. We’d also like to mention that it would be a good opportunity for developing an updated version of the mammoth model.

The Lada cars are simple, that's true. And that also makes them long outdated and obsolete. Not to mention poor parts quality all over that so-called car. And by the way, the Lada is straight descendant of the FIAT model of the early 1960's, and has close to almost 90% mechanics and design of that Italian car. Oh, it has been immortal for its price and the absence of new ideas and market motivations for the Lada's manufacturer.
