While we here at autoevolution think the Adam is a design success story, general opinions are divided, calling this city car a copy of the Fiat 500, Ford Ka or Citroen DS3. But that’s to be expected when Opel designed a rival for all of these cars.
The Adam is going to be built on a reengineered version of the platform underpinning the Corsa, which in turn has also been used for the Spark, Aveo and Sonic.

Recently, GM revealed three subcompact crossovers built on the same architecture and looking very similar - the Opel Mokka, Chevrolet Trax and Buick Encore. While there’s no need for a Chevy version of the Opel Adam since they have a budged brand, a Buick could sell particularly well in China.

Thanks to automotive graphics manipulator Theophilus Chin, we can show you what the Opel Adam would look like as a Buick. It’s been dubbed the Apple as a sort of joke (Adam’s Apple). But this is actually quite a pleasant name.
