We recently reported that Mercedes is considering a Roadster version of the SLS E-Cell, the electric incarnation of the SLS, but now it seems that the supercar, in its petrol-powered form, might also get an SUV version.
Our spy photographers came across this prototype while it was out for a hot weather testing session in the United Arab Emirates. This has to be a test mule, as it retains every detail of the SLS AMG, with the increased ride height being the only visible change.
We expect the SLS AMG SUV to be extremely capable off-road - just take a look at the adjacent image and you’ll notice the driver had no problem tackling the massive curb. However, upon closer inspection, the engineers seem to have got it all wrong with those positive camber angles - the car looks as if someone had just crashed it. Who knows, maybe that's what actually happened...
