The new McLaren P1 hybrid supercar, which will be unveiled as a production vehicle at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, will produce no less than 903bhp (916 HP DIN or PS).
According to the British automaker, the car will get 727bhp (737 PS) from its twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 alone, while the remaining 176bhp (179 PS) will be produced by the electric motor. Outstanding to say the least!
Moreover, the P1 is packed with the latest technological features, such as the Instant Power Assist System (IPAS), which is in charge with the extra electric 176 HP being instantly delivered to the wheels through a steering wheel-mounted button.
McLaren's newest supercar also features the Formula One-inspired Drag Reduction System (DRS), that's said to help increase straight-line speed. The DRS button is also positioned on the steering wheel so you can go faster for a few seconds using your left hand's thumb.
Getting back to the electric motor, the P1 will be able to cover only about six miles on electric power, but the 96 kg battery pack mounted onto the carbon fiber chassis can be fully charged in just two hours. McLaren claims "emissions of less than 200g/km on the combined cycle" for the P1.
The production version of the P1 will be unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
