While people may have been making comments over the ‘purity’ of Lamborghini’s idea for the Estoque sedan concept, those people should be made aware that there is one Lambo with four doors, four seats and a big boot - you could even call it an estate.
We are, of course, talking about the Espada Faena, a car created on the elongated chassis of the regular Espada of the 1970s. The Faena was created by Italian coach builder Petro Frua, taking no less than eight months to complete. The end result measured 4.58 meters (18 feet) in length, and weighed about 200 kg more than the regular Espada - its 3929cc V12 engine with 350 hp had no problem dealing with the extra weight, though it undoubtedly negatively affected its handling and overall performance characteristics.
It was first unveiled at the Turin Motor Show, back in 1978, and shown again at the 1980 Geneva Motor Show. Sadly, people deemed the rear styling quite ugly, and not enough of them manifested the interest to buy one, and so, only one car, the show car, remained.
