Jaguar Says Maserati Ghibli Is Full of Hot Air

Good to be bad 1 photo

Somebody at Jaguar HQ must have thought to himself "I know, we'll sell a lot more cars if we stopped avoiding lawsuits and started making jokes about our rivals". And so, the marketing team was handed a full set of pitchforks to poke and prod for weaknesses in their enemies' defenses.
Their first "victim" was Mercedes. A few months separated the German commercial for Magic Body and Jaguar's response, which showed a chicken being eaten by… a jaguar of course. That showed wit and style on their part.

Their next stunt is a blunt and simple blow to the head, but it's still despicably funny. One of their recent Twitter posts makes fun of Maserati and their commercial for the Ghibli sedan, aired during the Super Bowl. We'll let you read it first:

According to the dictionary, the Ghibli is a hot dry southerly wind of North Africa. Well there's your problem Maserati, you named your car after wind. Smart!

It's good to be bad, isn't it Jaguar?

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
