We were this close to adding "… because Russia" to our title (that's where the wrap is from) before we realized this used to be a cool customization option back in the day. What is it about people wanting to put Japanese letters they can't read on things, especially things that are not Japanese.
Just like those stupid tattoos, there's a chance the lettering on this Golf mean "I like monkey fish grandmother", but it really doesn't matter because everything with Asian lettering instantly becomes as cool as a samurai's sward. It's not like you can say "oh, but the car is ruined", because the Golf 4 was already an old and quite boring car.

This fossil from the early 2000s is as drab and boring as they get, but due to its reliability it's a favorite with people dealing in old German imports. The owner of this particular example probably loves his a lot because the custom wrap with dragons and koi fish has got to be worth at least as much as the car, if not more.

This wacky Japanese makeover for a German car is our second favorite Golf 4 wrap job ever, right after that velvet one we showed you last year.

The crazies responsible for the makeover are Russian Tuning Company, a Moscow company we're probably going to see a lot more of in the future.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
