Fiat Abarth 695 Esse Esse Onboard [Video]

With so many Fiat 500s out and about on the streets of the world, some (younger) people may not even realize that the 500 is actually a modern (and very commercial) interpretation of a 1960s classic. This video shows the original car, with a bit of sporting flavor, the 695 Esse Esse, driven as it should.

We were honestly surprised at the complete and utter lack of oversteer in what is a rear engined and rear-wheel drive car with a very short wheelbase, even in faster corners where the tire screech is clearly audible - it may even have a decent chassis, then. Also, as nice as the modern car is, we’d trade one in for its predecessor any day.

It also looks like a lot of fun to drive, despite the fact that the speeds it achieves aren’t really that great - we don’t mind that either, as sheer driving fun will always trump horsepower.
