Now, we’d like to present you the BMW F800 R, a player in the medium category of naked bikes that is aimed at offering a high level of driving fun and dynamics. The design of the ride has been inspired from that of the K 1300 R model, with the bike offering a dynamic appearance that inspires riders to enjoy their experience.
The bike tips the scales at 182 kg/ 401 lbs (the wet weight sits at 204 kg/450 lbs) and uses a chassis with a double-sided rear swing arm that has been tweaked for the sporty naked segment. The front wheel uses a telescopic fork setup, with a 43 mm stanchion diameter.
Power comes from a water-cooled two cylinder four-stroke engine that has a capacity of 798 cc, delivering 87 hp at 8,000 rpm and 86 Nm/63 lb-ft at 6,000 rpm. BMW can also offer an output reduction to 34 hp at 6,000 rpm and 58 Nm/43 lb-ft at 3,250 rpm. The engine is matted to a six-speed transmission that uses a shorter ratio for the three upper gears, for increased riding fun level. The F 800 R is also fitted with an O-ring chain secondary drive, which offers a high level of reliability.
The creation also comes with a set of beefy brakes provided by Brembo, which can be fitted with an ABS system (this is offered as an option) for increased safety.
