Faster than the Porsche 911 Carrrera S and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 on the Nurburgring, the 2014 Camaro Z/28 is the most track-capable Camaro you can buy nowadays.
Of course, there’s more than just a ‘Ring time to the Z/28. It’s lighter than the ZL1 and features advanced aerodynamics, among other cool enhancements.
But the new Z/28 isn’t the most extreme Camaro out there. The folks over at Callaway have taken the no-nonsense car to a whole new level by adding a supercharger and a range of upgrades. The results are impressive, as their Z/28 is motivated by 652 horses and 620 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 147 hp and 139 lb-ft over the stock vehicle.
Besides the TVS2300 supercharger system, the musclecar is also fitted with a liquid-to-air intercooler, increased flow rate fuel injectors, a high flow intake system and a low restriction exhaust system.
The sports coupe comes with Callaway SC652 badges, embroidered floor mats and a Callaway key fob. Authenticity documentation and a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty are included with each Z/28 as well. Moving over to the options list, customers can select for a 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain service contract, a custom-fit car cover or Callaway factory delivery.
Performance-wise, the SC652 Z/28 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.7 seconds and covers the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds at 114 mph (183.4 km/h).
The souped-up Z/28 will be built in just 10 units and each package will retail from $19,995. When the factory vehicle is included, the 2014 Callaway SC652 will cost at least $94,995.
