You might be tempted to think that since a BMW M5 Ring Taxi and its driver go around the Green Hell even more than a couple of times a day, sometimes, accidents are almost impossible to happen. And yet, the harsh reality shows us otherwise.
Not too long ago we were telling you about a crashed M5 Ring Taxi on the Nurburgring. From the looks of things, the car appeared to be totaled that time, but with the passengers intact, thanks to the safety features the M5 has. It was also back then when we presumed that the whole dreadful thing happened because of some fallen, wet leaves on the track. However, we didn’t have video of what happened so it was all speculation.

This time, the entire thing was captured on camera and it seems like excessive speed and the traditional rear-wheel drive setup were to blame here.

Coming in hot into a wide corner, the driver seemingly pressed the acceleration pedal a bit too much and forced the rear end out to the left, causing the car to switch its orientation and head right for the guardrails. to put it simply, oversteer is what got them all in trouble.

However, even so, with a logical, simple explanation behind it, everything seems a bit off here. With the vast experience drivers have on this track and with this car, things like this shouldn’t happen. We’re only curious what the passengers thought when they saw themselves heading for the railing.
