Every time BMW comes out with a new car, people criticize them for not being original, for sticking with the same corporate-approved lines. But the German automaker has never actually shied away from taking chances, and this is clearly shown by the i8.
Not only is it a car without a direct rival from any German automaker, but it also looks like nothing else on the market. So while the 3-Series, A4 or C-Class might look like the same car with different noses, the i8 will turn every head on the block.

This next clip will explain why BMW made the i8 look the way it does. We've always known that aerodynamics played an integral part in the design process. But beyond the buttresses and the crazy blue lines, this plug-in has things few other automobiles do: butterfly doors and laser headlights.
