There are many enticing bits that apply to all BMWs and one of them is that the engine compartment seems to have an infinite volume. Seriously, we’ve seen so many Bimmer engine swaps, especially the BMW-to-BMW kind, that we’re suspecting the Bavarian engineers of preparing the packaging right from the factory.
The latest example of this comes from a first generation 1-Series, which used to roam the world as a 130i. Sure, having a straight six under the hood of a 1er isn’t half bad, but it suddenly sounds unattractive when an M5 engine swap is mentioned.

And we’re not talking about any M5 heart transplant. Oh no. We are referring to what is probably the most ridiculously cool move of this kind, one implying an E60. This all means the 1-Series in question is now motivated by a 5-liter V10.

So is this BMW a sleeper?

Answering the question above is a delicate matter. At first, you could say the 1-Series appearance doesn’t give away the technical storm underneath the calm surface. Sure, the large wheels, as well as the generous exhaust might be seen as clues, but your car doesn’t need a V10 in order to pack such modifications.

Then again, you can’t hold anything against the driver of this BMW. In the most Germanic manner, the man warns everybody about the abilities of his machine. From the V10 badges on the side, to the number plates, which offer the exact PS rating of the car, it’s all out there for everybody to see.

Until you decide on an answer, you can check out the video below. This shows the... M150i, if we may call it that, doing its drag racing thing. The action takes place during a dedicated event that was hosted by an airstrip.
