One of our favorite tech mods for cars are the exhaust systems. We’re suckers for items such as a modern valve-controlled exhaust that allow the same engine to whisper while traveling through the city and start growling when it enters a racetrack, announcing potential competitors that you have arrived. And you can’t deny the fact that a good exhaust also improves the appearance of your vehicle, using a discreet approach to do this.

One of the most active aftermarket exhaust developers comes from Slovenia and uses the Akrapovic name. The tuner started out in life by producing motorcycle exhaust systems but proved to be a successful contender once it entered the automotive sector.

The aftermarket developer today announced that it is working on an exhaust for the BMW X6 M. We know, this is just teasing, but we couldn’t help passing the anticipation to you. The company is developing a slip-on system (this kind of exhaust is included in the tuner’s entry level range), but considering that we are talking about a twin-turbo 4.4 liter V8 that delivers 555 hp, things should become interesting.

We’ll be back with more details as soon as they become available. Meanwhile, we’re offering you a description of the materials used by Akrapovic.

We performed a detailed mechanical and oxidation resistance characterization on different blended alloys, produced by the mixing of materials. At the moment, we can offer our clients 4 different types of blends obtained from recycled materials,” the tuner explains.
