Akrapovic has released the tech data on their latest motorcycle exhaust system, a titanium Racing Line add-on for the all-new Yamaha FZ-09, or MT-09 as it is sold in Europe.
Just like we expected, performance is visibly enhanced after installing the new Akrapovic full exhaust, while the total weight of the bike decreases. Even more, the aftermarket add-on sports the same noise level as the stock exhaust, though with the characteristic Akrapovic timbre.

The new FZ-09 exhaust is a two-piece build, with the collector tubes (with crossover pipes) and the actual 3-port canister easy to install separately.

Customers will enjoy the 5.4 extra horsepower at 9900 rpm, bringing the bike to 117.2 hp, and the 5.3 Nm (3.9 lb-ft) @ 5000 rpm of extra torque. At the same time, the whole exhaust line weighs in at only 6 kg (13.2 lb), a nice shave from the 8.4 kg (18.5 lbs).

Akrapovic makes use of the existing lambda sensor so no tuning is necessary. A catalyzer may be required for full European compliance. The Yamaha FZ-09 titanium Racing Line exhaust system is available for $1,039 (€760).
