Unveiled earlier this month, the Ford Edge concept showed up at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show to preview the Blue Oval's next-generation mid-size crossover SUV. Developed as a global vehicle, the brand new Edge will be launched sometime next year in the United States, Europe, China and South America.
Ford had nothing to say about the changes the concept will endure in order to become a production car, but our friends at X-Tomi Design have already rendered the SUV in production form. Modifications are limited to toned down headlamps and ordinary door handles, which should be accurate considering that the concept car showed in LA is supposed to be a production-ready vehicle.
Unfortunately, they haven't done a rendering for the rear end, but our guess is the production Edge should come with a few changes to its taillights and exhaust pipes.
As a reminder, Ford said the 2015 Edge will feature a range of advanced automated driving technologies, including the self-parking and obstacle avoiding systems currently under development, new EcoBoost engines and active grille shutters for better fuel efficiency.
