SUV used to be know as big, lumbering vehicles that Americans use to tow their bots. Meanwhile crossover used to be the word that described a vehicles that crosses over from one segment to another, usually from the SUV world to that of normal cars.
But no self-respecting luxury automaker will say they build crossovers, even though that’s what all the big BMWs, Audis and other such German jacked up models are.
Thankfully, there’s no confusing a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) for anything else right now. And there’s also no confusing the new Porsche Macan for another such vehicle. These renderings come from German publication AutoBild and show what the new model could look like when it’s launched next year.
The roofline of the four-door coupe version really curves downward towards the boot lip. The overall impression is unlike any other car on the market right now. But the Macan is only at the test mule phase of its development, and it’s too early to tell if this is the shape of things to come.
