2010 BMW G 450 X Enduro Bike Detailed
The technical optimizations include an improvement in the bike's digital engine management system, which reduces fuel consumption and the engine break torque.
According to the manufacturer, adding to the standard options of the 2010 G 450 X will be a slip-on racing silencer, which will come without ABE and not homologated for on-road use.
“The stainless steel manifold, designed as a combined reflective and absorptive silencer, fulfills FIM regulations, is easy to assemble, and reduces the G 450 X's dry weight in competition conditions to no more than 110 kilograms,” a company statement says.
The bike’s chassis has also been revised, with the offset of the front axle to the middle of the fork rod being reduced by 2.5 millimeters, resulting in more neutral handling with optimum directional stability. Moreover, the upside-down fork has been recalibrated with a stronger damping progression, offering improvements in overcoming bumps.
Furthermore, the rear strut has been modified, and the new seat design improves ergonomics, as it is now filled soft foam and displaying an enlarged radius in the upper thigh area, increasing comfort and control.
The design of the new G 450 X is oriented towards the factory racing models of the BMW Motorrad Motorsport team, with matching, gold-anodized fork inner tubes. However, pricing for the new enduro bike will be released closer to the market launch date.
