You'd think that EVs are cars for super-sensible people who cut their showers short to consume less water and eat soy beans twice a day… boring people in short. But in Japan people see econoboxes as everyday cars so they don't shy away from tuning a Prius, or like in this case a Nissan Leaf.
The Nismo in-house tuning division has created one wild looking EV, with looks from sci-fi movies.
In Japan, the Nismo kit adds an extra JPY543,900 ($5,500) and includes redesigned bumpers, side skirts and rear spoiler, a rear wing and a number of other small touches. You can also have carbon fiber (real) mirror housings and 18-inch wheels.
It's not only the looks which get upgraded, since you can also have sports suspension for a stiffer and 30mm-lower ride.
Nismo also created a vehicle control module which doesn't give you more power, but sharpen's up the car's every response.
