It's really heartening seeing old bikes restored to a fully-working condition. Here's a Canadian-bred 1979 Honda CX 500, prepped by Garrett Dietz.
Even if Garrett himself credits the inspiration for this bike to Wrenhmonkees custom shop, the result is no less spectacular, especially as the original bike as nowhere near an amazing one, visually speaking.

The end result of a winter's work for Garrett and his father is different, though. Having stripped everything which was not direly needed for the bike to work ok, Garrett managed to re-build a cafe-racer with a distinct attire and a different character.

The rear end of the new project is infinitely slimmer and sportier than the original CX 500 has ever dreamed of being and the wrapped exhausts stress the vintage air of this bike. Retro handlebars with underbar mirrors evoke the flat track racers of yore, while the minimalist fenders accentuate and sporty nature of this 50 hp bike.

It may be an old one but Garrett still proudly rides it daily. And by all means, we'd do so too, for this reborn Honda CX 500 looks simply amazing. You can either love CXes or hate them, anyway.
