Being unveiled last year, via an official photo gallery, the MINI John Cooper Works Concept made its world debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show yesterday, showing the world what the new hot hatch will bring to the table.
The design is, as expected, very aggressive and performance oriented. The car's exterior paint scheme is rather special, showcasing a Brushed Aluminum finish with contrasting red stripes on it, a motif that can be found all over the exterior. The front fascia has massive air intakes on the lower side of the bumper and is decked with a JCW badge. The headlights look pretty much the same as on the standard Cooper model, whilst the bonnet gained an air scoop.
The wheels are also well within the usual MINI lines of design, being more of an evolution compared to the previous model. Round the back, the roof received a spoiler with red contrasting lines whilst the bumper and its central diffuser house 2 carbon fibre tail pipes from the JCW exhaust in between two air outlets circled by red outlines.
As for the engine and the interior, not details have been released yet but we’re expecting the most hardcore MINI to be fitted with a 2-liter turbocharged unit making more than 220 HP and 300 Nm of torque, all of which being sent to the front axle.
