You are never really sure of yourself, when it comes to driving, after you`ve had a lot of time behind the wheel, time which you would have spent experiencing and experimenting with all the different situations you may face on the road.
Lack of experience is one of the main factors which cause teen drivers to crash, and so, the UK Government has proposed some rather drastic measures, in order to limit the number of casualties involved in the inevitable crashes caused by young drivers.

Apparently, a study by the Association of British Insurers (ABI) says that one third of all drivers who die in car crashes in the UK are below the age of 25, despite the fact that the age range only accounts for one in eight licensed drivers. Drivers between 17 and 19 were involved in an even more disproportionate number of crashes, so the problem is quite clear to see.

The Government proposal for a nine-month ban on carrying passengers, for new drivers, may be enough to improve the figures, yet the ABI suggests that at least a full year of not carrying other passengers, aside from family members is sufficient to begin correcting the problem.
