You Thought Dakar Was Tough, Enter 2012 Redbull Romaniacs

Enter Redbull Romaniacs, a competition which has become legendary in just a few years, held in a mythical place: Transylvania, Romania, the very home of Dracula, as they say.
Well, indeed the Dakar rally may be one of the best-known rallyes of the whole automotive world, and yes, it is definitely no joke. But if you thought riding a bike in the Dakar is the ultimate challenge, then you were so wrong.

The Redbull Romaniacs is in fact one of the ultimate tests of man and machine versus nature, with riders coming from more than 30 countries across the planet, trying to match their skills with the awesomeness of the landscape, while hoping to beat the wild and unforgiving terrain.

The routes are GPS-guided but with no details on rivers, steep climbs, and all, so bad navigation skills spell loss. Both bikes and riders get so thrashed up, that merely being able to finish the Romanian Hard Enduro Rally is a major victory itself. And rumor goes that after you manage to get it past the finish line, you could finish anything else in the enduro world.
