Yamaha has found a very smart way to promote its new motorcycles, using the highly popular anime cartoons to spread the news on the MT-07, MT-09 and the MT-09 SR. The Master of Torque is a series of (so far) 4 episodes which will be aired on Youtube in the coming weeks.
With an undeniable similarity between the MT moniker and the Master of Torque name, these anime episodes star three young riders, Makina, Koutaru and Dan, and tell their urban stories, in a world which blends reality and fiction. With the boundary between reality and the imaginary realm blurred, Yamaha introduces its new naked all-rounders using the same “Dark Side of Japan” concept which helped launch the MT-09 initially.

Master of Torque mixes several cultural and industrial elements of the Japanese society into a package which helps stress the contradictory, but highly-addictive nature of the very bikes it promotes. Based on the world-famous Japanese rigidity and perfectionism, these bikes are rebellious by their very nature and can help their owners discover and explore new social horizons.
While we here are not exactly fond of anime, we can expect that the Master of Torque series will spark a cult following, and maybe turn into an adult, two-wheeled specific version of the Pokemon. And no, we don’t like Pokemon, either.
