Have you ever asked yourself how a Ford Fiesta short wheelbase version would look like? Not, pretty, not pretty at all, as Finnish race driver Toomas Heikkinen recently found out during a practice session for this year’s X Games.
The driver was attempting to make a 50-foot jump, but barely missed the entry on the landing ramp, with this Fiesta violently hitting the steel structure. The vehicle subsequentl;y spinned in the air and landed on its roof. As if this wasn’t enough, the crash and the landing caused a fire in the engine compartment.
Heikkinen suffered a broken ankle and is experiencing small abdominal pain and, of course, has missed the official action on Sunday. You can watch the crash in the video above, but make sure to be prepared for some violent scenes.
