This motorized creature wants to rule Pikes Peak, and it could do so, according to its Latvian makers. Meet the PP03, the world's first 1-megawatt electric car that comes with big ambitions for the future.
Drive eO just released information about the PP03, but in case the carmaker was an unknown entity for you up until this point, let's clear the air, shall we?

For your information, Drive eO have been for a long time in the EV and PHEV vehicle industry, but recent attempts made them famous. They are the ones who took a modified Tesla Roadster last year to Pikes Peak, but that's not all.

The motorsport world knows them as the first company to enter the Dakar Rally with a hybrid, so the idea of having a 1-megawatt electric racer (Koenigsegg Regera much?) shooting up the hill at Pikes Peak is not that eccentric.

PP03 has six YASA-400 electric motors juiced up from a 50 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. In case you were wondering how Drive eO came up with 1,020 KW (1,387 HP) and 2,610 Nm (1,925 lb-ft) of torque, there's your answer.

“We are hugely excited about building world’s first one megawatt electric race car. We have built the car from the ground up and the majority of the components and design has been constructed in-house," said Kristaps Dambis, Drive eO PP03 project director.

Besides all that fancy hardware, the PP03 is also taking basic physics into consideration. In that respect, the electric racer weighs only 1,200 kg (2,646 lb) and can reach 260 km/h. Is the Peugeot 208 T16 shaking already?
