9ff today unveiled the first picture of what's supposed to be the world's fastest production car, but only a few details regarding the new model were actually provided. However, what we know is that the new 9ff GT9-R will produce a maximum power of 1120 hp combined with a maximum torque of 1050 Nm! But even so, we're still not sure if this extremely powerful car has the ability to beat the SSC Ultimate Aero TT and its 412.28 km/h speed record.
The picture posted on the official 9ff website shows a Porsche 911-like car with apparently functional air vents (this new model really needs large and fully functional air vents if it really plans to beat the world speed record), plus a high-performance front splitter, roof scoop and a big rear wing.
The standard 9ff GT9 model is a customized Porsche 911 model featuring a redesigned body kit combined with a completely new 4.0-liter with a maximum output rated at 987 horsepower. Moreover, the first variant had a top speed of 254.1 mph, so it's likely to see even higher speed from the R model.
Even though it was especially designed to beat Bugatti Veyron and SSC Ultimate Aero TT, the first GT9 could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in no more than 4.2 seconds and to 186 mph in 17.6 seconds, slower than Veyron that could reach 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. The initial model had a total weight of 1326 kilos and was equipped with a 6-speed gearbox.
As mentioned, 9ff provided only a few details about the new GT9-R, but keep your eyes peeled on autoevolution to find out new information as soon as it's unveiled.
