Eva Håkansson and her KillaJoule electric sidecar motorcycle have made history at the Bonneville Salt Flats, getting past the 200 mph mark with a top speed of 212.040 mph (341.172 km/h).
Racing husband and wife Bill Dube and Eva Håkansson are deep into electric motorcycle racing, with Ben being one of the pioneers of lithium battery-powered drag bikes, and Eva competing on Pikes Peak aboard the first electric bike to race on the famous uphill road.
The KillaJoule is a streamliner "sidecar" motorcycle and the two plan another attempt at the invite-only Mike Cook's Bonneville Shootout later this week. Their ultimate goal is to break the 224.201 mph (360.739 km/h) record and become the world's fastest sidecar motorcycle of any kind.
According to AutoBlog, Eva and Ben used about half of the 300 HP of the KillaJoule can deliver and considering this, seeing Eva ride to greater glory seems not only feasible, but most likely. We'll be back with news from the electric sidecar speed records pretty soon.
