A rather incredible video showing a woman purportedly driving a police car in a chase has turned up on the internet. According to various news outlets, police officers were completely taken by surprise by a cunning woman that simply refused to be taken in.
It seemed like a rather regular day for two policemen in Beaver County, Pa. when they pulled over a woman that was suspected of shoplifting. They handcuffed and sat her in the back of their patrol car while inspecting the vehicle she was driving but the woman had different plans for the night, simply refusing to go to jail easily.

According to investigators, 27-year old Roxanne Rimer managed to climb through the glass partition and into the car’s driver’s seat and proceeded to ram her own car that was pulled over and lead the police into a high-speed chase. Keep this in mind: she did all of this while handcuffed behind her back.

How she managed to get the car in gear and how she steered remains a mystery but we have to admire her ambition nonetheless.

What followed is worthy of action movies. Despite her condition she managed to reach speeds of up to 100 mph (160 km/h) down Route 51. Fortunately, nobody was injured as most drivers steered out of the way, thinking this was an official police officer on duty. Imagine their faces when they saw who was behind the wheel...

That’s not all though. As local news portals report, she stopped the cruiser at one point, hitchhiked and got a ride from another driver. To me that seems even more far fetched. After all, who picks up a hitchhiker that’s handcuffed?

It all ended though when police officers found her in Aliquippa still wearing the handcuffs. She now faces a lot more charges than just shoplifting, including aggravated assault.
