It’s nice to ask “what if” questions, but unfortunately, the vast majority of them remain unanswered. This one - what if famous car models were supermodels? - had all the chances of remaining a rhetorical one as well, only it was a fashion photographer who was doing the asking.
We all like to anthropomorphize the things around us, and cars make no exception. We often talk about vehicles as if they were human, usually commenting on the ugly face of that SUV or the crazy eyes of the Nissan Juke. And that’s before we even get to what’s happening in Japan. Have you seen the Toyota Prius parts catalogue that has a special anime character for every major component or feature? You’re welcome.

Above anything else, what fashion photographer Viktorija Pashuta did is an excellent exercise of imagination, and it shows some very good knowledge about cars, even though some examples are the biggest clichés out there. Take the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, for example. Who here expected the model to be past her prime and focus on elegance? Whoa, such unanimity.

Still, this gives us the unlikely chance of confronting our own perceptions about how a certain car would look if it were a supermodel, which is totally useless, but also absolutely cool at the same time. Plus, you get to look at supermodels in the name of science, which is always nice. I mean, it’s good to have a cover.

Another interesting aspect this project brings out is that some cars that you wouldn’t touch with a stick in real life have a very appealing supermodel correspondent. “They’re supermodels, what did you expect?” you’ll say, and you’re right, they all should look at least decent, but the same goes for the cars. And yet we all know that some of them are unexplainably ugly.

So feel free to browse around and if you want to share your favorite out of the bunch, you can do so in the comment below. We won’t judge. Not even if it’s the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. We might say you’re a weirdo if you pick the Tesla Model S, though.
