Road rage, that illusive concept that defines anything and everything from cursing while behind the wheel to taking your car and slamming it into the other guy's is only gonna get worse. Sorry to say, in a few years time, congestion will become a problem that will dwarf, by far, all others when it comes to transportation.
Despite the possibility of more car crashes, caused by the increasing number of cars trying to occupy the same space, at the same time, this is not why drivers fear tomorrow. At least, not the drivers in the UK.
According to a recent study conducted by Carrentals.co.uk on 2,000 drivers, the majority of UK's motorists don't fear congestion, distraction, road hazards and so on. UK drivers fear... UK drivers. Or, at least, the reactions the others might have when giving in to the pressure of being stuck in the same place for hours. But not only.
Ninety two percent of those questioned said they fear other drivers in general, as they've seen, for instance, drivers speeding in 30 mph zones, cars literally fighting to get in front of the others (80 percent) or tailgating (77 percent).
"We all know that Britain's roads can be incredibly busy but the real danger comes from other drivers and their behaviour behind the wheel," Gareth Robinson, managing director of Carrentals.co.uk was quoted as saying by The Telegraph.
"The survey had reports of some unbelievably dangerous actions, not to mention physical violence and intimidation that once would have been unheard of."
