Webber Not Worried About Driving Luscious Liz at Silverstone

Earlier this week, we had reported to you that Mark Webber will drive Sebastian Vettel's old chassis in the upcoming British Grand Prix, at Silverstone. To be more precise, the 33-year old Aussie will get behind the wheel of Luscious Liz, the car that his much younger teammate used to drive until the Turkish Grand Prix.

Ever since Formula One came back to Europe, Vettel started complaining about the strange behavior of his car, which made the Red Bull mechanics and engineers check it in detail. Once the defect was found – although not disclosed by the team – Vettel was given another chassis, with the guys at Milton Keynes working to repair the old car.

Now that Webber practically destroyed his car in the airborne crash at Valencia – Red Bull decided to use what was left of his RB5 as spare parts for the remainder of the season – he will have to take Vettel's old car to race, although the chassis was clearly configured for the young German. Nevertheless, Webber insisted that there is nothing wrong with the car and that all defects have been repaired by the team.

There was nothing wrong with it. It's fine. It's all we've got anyway,” said Webber, when talking to the reporters at the Milton Keynes factory.

Meanwhile, he did not respond to Mike Gascoyne's (technical director of Lotus F1) comments regarding his Valencia crash in an official way – the official had blamed Webber for the crash with Kovalainen. However, when British reporter Byron Young, of the Mirror, virtually launched his car whilst driving the Red Bull simulator, Webber observed wryly: “You didn't even have any shitboxes to avoid,” as reported by the GMM news agency.
