Watch and Learn: Close Call for Yamaha YZF-R125 Rider

This video is almost a textbook example showing why tailgating is a dangerous business, regardless of who's behind who: bike following bike, cars behind bikes or the other way around. The reason is dead-simple: if something goes wrong or somebody makes an unexpected maneuver, there's no room for steering clear from the danger.
While tailgating someone from inside a car is less dangerous due to the very stable nature of the vehicle and all the metal surrounding the driver and passengers, things are so much different aboard a motorcycle.

These guys were not as safety-focused as they could have been riding so closely to the VW, and the bag thing happened: the driver pulled over without signaling and in a very short distance. The guys behind him were really lucky he did not brake more violently and they had their eyes on the road.

Such a predicament could have turned out a pretty bad outcome, but the YZF-R125 rider kept cool and rode like he should have, searching for a way out, instead of panicking, giving in to the infamous target fixation and eventually crashing. Good riding, there! Ride safe and keep an eye for those who don't.
