VSCC SeeRed Coming to Donington Park This Weekend

Donington Park will be reacquainted with an old friend this weekend (May 21 and 22), as the Leicestershire-based venue will host 'SeeRed' - the Vintage Sports-Car Club's historic racing festival, that offers a packed programme of races with cars dating from pre-war right up until the early 1960s.

A total of 17 races will be run over the two-day festival, so cars from the vintage era will take to Donington's famous curves alongside pre-1961 historic Grand Prix cars, 1960s Sports Racing Cars, Formula Junior, Equipe GTS (50s and 60s production sports-cars) and Formula 3 (500s).

Having raced at the Donington since 1937, the Vintage Sports-Car Club is renowned for putting on great events at the venue, but this year moves to an earlier than usual slot, welcoming cars and drivers that acknowledge the achievements made in motorsport across six decades (Edwardian era to the 1960s).

Fans will also get a chance to see the legendary 24 Litre Napier-Railton Land Speed Record car too, thanks to the kind support provided by the Brooklands Museum. First raced at Brooklands in 1933, the Napier-Railton went on to make many Land Speed Record attempts, securing 42 world and international records between 1933 and 1937.

With in excess of 300 competitors set to race at the weekend, an extremely diverse and rich selection of cars, plus a good long range weather forecast too, SeeRed looks set to be a must-see event for any motorsport enthusiast.

Tickets for SeeRed cost £15 per day on the gate (children under 16 go free), with action beginning at 09.00am each day.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
