American publication, The Diesel Driver, hold a contest every year, looking to name the best Diesel Manufacturer of the year, a contest in which BMW is, of course, included.
This year, the diesel offering of the Germans drastically increased. Now, they have 7 models for the North American continent, starting with the 328d and going up to the recently announced 740Ld xDrive.

The competition is fierce though and our favorite brand will need every vote to rise to the number one spot on the podium. Cars like the Audi A6 TDI, A7 TDI, Gran Cherokee ECODiesel and Mercedes-Benz’s E250 BlueTec pose a serious threat.

Of course, Volkswagen couldn’t miss out and entered the competition with no less than six models: Beetle TDI, Beetle Convertible TDI, Golf TDI, Jetta Sedan TDI, Jetta Sportwagen TDI, Passat TDI and Touareg TDI. The Wolfsburg-based company even won the contest last year, with its Passat TDI.

To cast your vote, head on down to the Diesel Driver. Voting stops on March 15.
