The excellent November sales results reported by the major automakers present on the US market have also rubbed off on Volvo. The Swedish manufacturer has announced a 26.8% increase in their November sales, when compared to last year’s figures, selling 6,141 units.
Their top seller is the XC60 crossover, which sold 2,067 units, which equates to a very impressive 167.1% increase over the figures of November 2011, while the S60 came a close second, with 1,866 units sold, followed by the XC90 which sold 792 units (150 less than last year) and the XC70 with 593 units sold.
Their year-to-date sales were also up, but by a very small percentage - 0.1%, when compared to last year’s figures, selling 61,967 units through November - not that much more than the previous year’s 61,898 units. Volvo needs a wider range of models on the US market, as aside from the XC60 and S60, the rest of the models they sell in the US are refreshed and updated versions of aging cars - the S80 and XC90, for instance.
