Volvo Presents New Management Board

Earlier today the Volvo brand officially passed from Ford’s yard into Geely’s, with the event being celebrated through a special ceremony held in London. Now, coming as a natural move, the Swedish company is presenting its new management board.

The automotive producer will be led by Stefan Jacoby, who previously served as CEO for Volkswagen Group of America. He will become president and CEO of Volvo cars starting from August 16, with the executive board being chaired by Li Shufu, the chairman of the Geely Holding Group.

The new management team will include multiple new faces, with the list having Volvo’s former president and chief executive Hans-Olov Olsson and a former Ford Chief Marketing Officer (his name was not disclosed), who will serve as a vice-chairman.

Among the people that will create Volvo’s future we will also be able to find Hakan Samuelsson, Freeman Shen, Herbert Daniel, Winnie Kin Wah Fok and Lone Fonss Schroder.

The aforementioned executives will fill in their new positions after the finals aspects of the transaction are completed.

"Our employees, suppliers, dealers - and above all our customers - can be confident that Volvo will preserve its status as the industry leader in vehicle safety and innovation - even as it pursues new market opportunities," said Jacoby.

This famous Swedish premium brand will remain true to its core values of safety, quality, environmental care and modern Scandinavian design as it strengthens the existing European and North American markets and expands its presence in China and other emerging markets," said Shufu.
