Volkswagen Sharan UK Pricing Released

Volkswagen’s UK division has announced the pricing for the Sharan model, as the vehicle is now available to order at VW dealerships across the country.

The people carrier offers a choice of four equipment levels: S, SE, SEL and Executive. All offer seven seats as standard, except for Executive, which comes with six individual seats with armrests and Vienna leather as standard.

The new Sharan comes with a long list of standard equipment that includes ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist) and ESP (Electronic Stabilization Program), a curtain airbag system for all three rows of seats, side airbags for the first two rows of seats and driver and passenger airbags as well as an additional airbag to protect the driver’s knees, an eight-speaker DAB digital radio, 2Zone electronic climate control and an iPod interface.

The vehicle comes with a new EasyFold seating concept. This allows the individual seats of the second and third rows to be folded in the car’s floor. Just like the front seats, the second row of seats also adjust longitudinally and over backrest angles of up to 20 degrees. The second row of seats is also fitted with an intelligent folding mechanism that allows access to the rear seats. The luggage space sits at 1,339 liters, when the vehicle uses a five-seat configuration and can be increased to 2,430 liters when all the seats are folded.

The MPV’s engine range includes two petrol units (150 hp 1.4 TSI and 200 hp 2.0 TSI) and two diesel powerplants (140 hp 2.0 TDI and 170 hp 2.0 TDI).

The Sharan range starts at 22,980 pounds ($36,500) and climbs up to 30,580 pounds ($48,580). The first customers are scheduled to receive their vehicles next month.
