The new TV commercial for the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta promotes how efficient it is if you buy it with the TDI clean diesel engine. But you wouldn't really note the boring stuff because it's so funny.
It's about the "good friend" who decides to offer a ride to one of his wife/girlfriend's female friends. The only catch is that while she seems normal and even a little bit sexy, she has a ridiculously annoying laugh. It's the type that drives you up the wall, and this guy has to put up with her for nine hours.
And since the Jetta TDI Clean Diesel supposedly does 609 miles on a single tank of gas, there's no getting away from misses chuckles here.
The 2-liter TDi used in the Jetta produces 140 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. It's also one of the cleanest and efficient sedans, doing up to 42 mph on the highway.
The Jetta TDI starts at $23,055 with the six-speed manual or $24,155 with the six-speed DSG automatic.
