Volkswagen Golf Gets New Versions

Earlier today, we reported that the Volkswagen introduced a new version for the Scirocco, which brings multiple features, such as 18-inch alloy rims and an Alacantra-fabric finish. Now, it’s time for the Golf range to get new incarnations.

The German automotive producer is offering us two new versions of the compact car, the United and the Sport Edition, both only available for the five-door incarnation of the Golf.

The Gold United is the new entry-level version of the range, being powered by a 1.4 liter petrol engine that produces 80 hp. The vehicle offers the same standard equipment as the previous basic version, the Trendline, adding a Pioneer DEH2200 audio unit which comes with a USB connection. The Golf United can only be ordered in white or black. The vehicle has a starting price of EUR14,950.

As for the Golf Sport Edition, this equipment level is offered for the 122 hp 1.4 liter TSI engine and for the 105 hp 1.6l TDI unit, being offered for a price of EUR18,500 and EUR20,500, respectively. This means that we're not actually taking about a sporty vehicle, but we'll forget this and move on to the list of goodies that come with the car.

The vehicle also offers the same features as the Trendline version, so we get an air conditioning system, ESP, seven airbags, electric windows, central locking with remote control, as well as electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors. However, the version adds R-line-signed front bumper, side skirts and rear spoiler, 16-inch alloy rims, a Pioneer DEH-7300BT audio system with Bluetooth, USB, AUX entry and iPod connection.
