The Amarok engine range included a 2.0-liter turbocharged TDI unit delivering 120 hp and a 2.0-liter BiTDI twin-turbo powerplant we 180 hp.

From now on, the Amarok will receive a 140 hp version of the 2.0-liter TDI instead of the 120 hp one, with this also producing a peak torque of 340 Nm (251 lb-ft). The change doesn't affect the fuel efficiency, which sits at 6.8 liters per 100 km or 34.6 US mpg.

However, the 0 to 62 mph sprint time drops by 0.6 seconds, to 12.6 seconds, while the top speed is now 168 km/h (104 mph) instead of 162 km/h (101 mph). As for the in-gear acceleration, the 140 hp Amarok now completes the 80 to 150 km/h (50 to 93 mph) sprint in 5ht gear 0.5 seconds quicker.

The list of options for the Amarok is now richer, with this gaining features such as the Park Pilot with a rear-view camera, the RNS 510 navigation system and others.

The Amarok 2.0 TDI 140 hp comes with a starting price of €24,317 on the German market.
