Austrian based “EcoTaxi” cab company in Vienna has a reason to celebrate as one of their vehicles just reached the 1 million kilometers milestone.
And no, it’s not a Corolla but a second generation Prius hybrid that has been in service since 2007.
"As the name suggests, our company aims to be sustainable and environmentally friendly. For this, the Toyota hybrid vehicles with environmentally friendly technology and extreme durability are the perfect cars, "said managing director Milan Milic.
The company has more than 200 Prii cabs running each day and the owner says that the million kilometer breaker needed no special reparations, with only the regular maintenance being performed over the 7=seven years.
They also said that the Prius will remain in service, hoping to reach the second million kilometers. Now let’s hope the battery will last until the second milestone as replacing it with a new one will probably be an unfeasible job.
