Vettel Sick and Tired of Team Politics

Sebastian Vettel distances himself from the latest politics involving his team in the British Grand Prix, when he was handed a new front wing in the qualifying session by Red Bull. That move created chaos within the Red Bull lineup, as his teammate Mark Webber was visibly frustrated with that decision – he had to tackle the Silverstone weekend with the old wing – and voiced his disappointment in the media soon after.

Given that this is the second outspoken conflict between the two drivers – or between Webber and his team, if you'd like to put it that way – Vettel wanted to stress the fact that he had nothing to do with Red Bull's decision and that he hopes better times between him and the 33-year old Australian will come this year.

I try to focus on myself, that is what matters. We do have a very great car and, if you race cars with similar pace and guys with a similar speed on the track, then you get to see them once in a while. That is normal. It is racing, it is what it is about and it is what people love,” said Vettel after the British GP, which he concluded in 7th place, according to Autosport.

After the start, he was involved in a clash for the 1st spot against his own teammate, which he lost, and after that his car was touched by Lewis Hamilton's and suffered a tire puncture.

The internal (situation)? If you look at the championship now, and if you look at the championship two races ago and if you look at championship two races ahead you probably don't know what is coming up, we will see.

I said on the radio that if someone for the weather forecast could turn the shit off for the future, because for some reason it seems to happen on our side pretty much, then that would be appreciated. It is life, and life goes on.”

I don't want to speak bad or anything about other people. Most important is always to keep the respect. I know from myself the races where I finished behind him, or were slower than him, I know the reasons for it. I can fall asleep at night, so don't worry,” added Vettel.

His teammate, however, admitted that while he would save his younger colleague from drowning, if that were the case, he would not take Vettel for a drink at the pub.
